BACKGROUND

The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) is the National Organisation of persons with Physical Disabilities in the Ghana with Head office in Accra, Ghana. We are a regional branch of the National Body.

Founded in 1980, GSPD has been championing the cause of its members who are disadvantaged in terms of access to health, education, employment, sports and recreation and cultural activities, and this means that many are poor. GSPD is a registered Ghana NGO with branches in all the Ten regions of Ghana. The Greater Accra Region has 16 district branches and 8 zonal branches.

We are one of the founding members of Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD) a cross- disability grouping which represent the interest of all persons with Disabilities in Ghana.
